Maxine (Mercer) GILES

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mother, Maxine Giles at the Elrose Health Centre at the age of 94.

Mom had an active busy life. She married John Giles and together they raised 10 children.

She was a member of the Wartime UCW and was an avid curler for many years. A lifetime member of the Golden age club playing cards weekly into her 94th year. She will be remembered as fun loving, quick witted and always having a comeback.

Although she was only at the Health Center for 3 months she enjoyed the kind, caring and compassion she received from the staff. She was predeceased by her husband John, parents Marshall and Ruby Mercer, son Dale, grandson Reilly Marchand, infant grandson Kim Giles, son-in-law Larry Tripp, brothers Carman and Bill, sister Eloise Jones and nephews Jeff Alexander and Chris Jones.

She leaves to mourn children Lloyd (Sandy), Richard (Bonnie), Denise (Wayne) Sweet, Judy, Gerald, David, Kim, Lorene, Craig (Jen), 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and sister June (Dave) Alexander.

A Celebration of Mom’s Life will be held at the Elrose United Church on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
