Farming Rural 20

Merrill Joseph NASH

October 14, 1928 ~ March 11, 2022 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Obituary

It is with great sadness the family of Merrill Nash announce his passing at the age of 93. Merrill was born to Ira and Ella Nash on the homestead NE 24-32-14, which is south of where he resided until his retirement.

While growing up he attended Hazeldene school where he got his Grade 8, then joined his father building their mixed farming operations of growing crops and raising livestock.

In September of 1952, Merrill married Dorothy Allinson of Beechy, Saskatchewan and together they raised six children.

After his dad retired from farming, Merrill took over the farm. He was a hard worker, always making sure that things were done, and they were done properly.

Dad enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His passion was his black angus cattle, he could always tell which calf belonged to which cow without looking at the ear tags or whenever one went missing. As we were growing up, come springtime, we wouldn’t know what we would wake up to, to seeing either little piglets in a box warming up on the oven door or a newborn calf getting warmed up.

In 2015, Dad and Mom purchased a house in Rosetown where they resided until 2018, when Dad was placed in Elrose Health Centre long term care.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Lynn (Sharon) Nash and their children Bradley (Jocelyn) Nash and their children Landon and Keegan; Rickie Nash and her children Everett and Declan; Dwayne (Candace) Nash and their daughter Carrington; Mitchel (Amber) Nash and their children Aaliyah and Mistique; Brittany (Brad) Nessel and their children Paxton, Xander and Zane; Joe (Sally) Nash and their children Dallas (Ashley) Nash and their children Ryder and Harper; Travis (Rose) Nash and their children Blaze and Kruze; Brandon (Lovey) Nash; Val (Gord) Stubbs; Roger (Rhonda) Nash and their son Jonathan (Quin) England and their children Jade and Sawyer; Verna (Dwayne) Sparks and their children Micheal (Meagan) Sparks and their children Kinley and Branson; Kendall Sparks (Rock) and their son Bentynn ; Austin Sparks (Alanna); Steve (Jacqueline) Nash and their children Lauren, Sterling, Garrett Nash and Zach and Sarah Zimmer; brother Brian Nash; sister-in-laws Annette Nash, Bernice Meaden and brother-in-law Allan ( Verna ) Allinson.

He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 2018, his infant daughter Loretta, parents Ira and Ella Nash, brothers Vern (Gladys) Nash, Pat Nash, Melvin (Shirley) Nash and Laverne Nash, his father-in-law and his mother-in law Joseph and Lima Allinson, brother-in-laws Art ( Gertrude)( Hazel) Allinson ,Hugh ( Florence) Allinson, Albert Meaden, sister-in-laws Evelyn ( Olaf) Flaterud and  Irene( Lawrence) Foster.
