Coping with Grief

Phyllis Mary Sedgwick passed away peacefully in the early hours of September 30, 2022.
Phyllis was born in Milden on December 3, 1938 to David and Isabel Felker of Wiseton, the oldest of three girls. Phyllis and her two sisters, Sharon and Elaine grew up on the farm a half mile east of Wiseton. Growing up, Phyllis was involved in many church and school activities. She graduated from Wiseton School in 1957 and went on to graduate from Teachers College in Saskatoon. She taught elementary school for 12 years at various points in Saskatchewan.
On November 30, 1968 Phyllis married Grant Sedgwick and they began farming on the homeplace north of Greenan. Two sons followed, Kelly in 1970 and Kevin in 1973. Phyllis and Grant remained on the farm until the fall of 2015 when they moved to their condo in Rosetown.
Phyllis was active in the Alliance Church in both Rosetown and Elrose, she belonged to the TOPS Club in Elrose and the Greenan Community Club. She was a very social person, she enjoyed entertaining and was a great host. She also enjoyed attending many community events and her grandchildren’s sports, concerts and dance and piano recitals. Phyllis loved her family deeply and received much joy from her three grandchildren as well as her nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Phyllis will be missed by her husband Grant of 53 years; sons Kelly (Lori) and Kevin (Tanya); grandchildren Rebecca (Dylan), Carson and Macy; sister Elaine (Allan) Jardine, sisters-in-law Helen Quick and Norma Flaig as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents David and Isabel Felker, in-laws Norman and Rebecca Sedgwick and sister Sharon Erickson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosetown Alliance Church.
