Ron’s family sadly announces his passing at the Rosetown & District Health Centre on February 16, 2018.

Ron married Joan Tufts on October 8, 1966 and they lived briefly in Saskatoon before moving to Calgary, AB where Ron was employed by the Assessment Branch, Department of Municipal Affairs, Government of Alberta. While there, Ron attended classes at the U of C and U of A and received his AMAA (Accredited Municipal Assessor of Alberta).

In 1974, Ron and Joan returned to the farm at Plenty and farmed until the fall of 2016.

Ron was an active community volunteer. He played hockey, baseball and was an avid curler and long-time draw master for the annual bonspiel. Ron coached minor hockey, ball and high school curling. He served on the RM council, belonged to Plenty Kinsmen, K40's and served on CROP Council for a number of years. He helped with Plenty Dinner Theatre both as an usher and with stage construction and more recently enjoyed volunteering at the Plenty and District Museum.

Ron lived his life with integrity, hard work and a deep devotion to his family. He was a selfless man, giving of his time to his family, neighbours and community. During his illness, Ron supported his loved ones with a quiet strength.
