Sidonie MEYER Obituary

Sidonie passed away peacefully on Sunday Sept. 29th, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born on April 8th, 1930, in Hafford Sk.  She was the first of two daughters born to Anne (Worobetz) and William Romaniuk. She was raised on the family farm near Krydor where she grew up helping with the farm chores and learning to cook wonderful Ukrainian dishes, which later in life her family always appreciated. After completing school in Krydor she became a teacher and taught in a couple of one room schoolhouses before leaving for Rush Lake Sk. to teach in a school there.

While living there, she met and fell in love with a local farm boy Clarence Meyer. Soon they were married and started their family in Rush Lake. Bonnie was the first of six children followed by Douglas who sadly passed away in infancy. After a couple of years struggling on the farm Sidonie and Clarence moved their family to Eston where she worked in the local hospital kitchen. Jim and Lori were born there before they moved to Rosetown where Sandi and Lisa were the final children born in the family.

Sidonie worked at various jobs part time while raising her family and running the household. She eventually took a job with the Post Office and retired from there at age 62.

Sidonie loved socializing and entertaining her many friends. On many Friday and Saturday nights friends were gathered for card games which they loved so much as a couple. She loved to shop and wear beautiful clothes and shoes; she was a beautiful lady and loved beautiful things.

Sidonie and Clarence loved to travel around Canada to visit their extended family and friends and went to Hawaii for their 25th wedding anniversary. They travelled to the U.S. several times and always enjoyed seeing new places.

After Clarence passed, Sidonie moved to Saskatoon where she spent many happy years, before returning to Rosetown to live out her final years.

She was predeceased by her parents Bill and Anne, her husband Clarence, infant son Douglas, granddaughter Larissa St John, son-in law Mark Lamborn and great granddaughter Mienna Lamborn.

She will be missed by her loving family and is survived by her children Bonnie (Kevin) St John, Jim (Emily) Meyer, Lori (Kevin) Walker, Sandi Lamborn (Trent Smith), Lisa (Rick) Riendeau. Sister Natalie Rowan, grandchildren Jared (Melissa) St John, Jesse St John, Dustin (Laura Holt) Meyer, Jonathan (Morgan) Meyer, Scott (Stacey) Walker, Heather (Jeff) Wells, Andrea (Shawn) Miller, Michael (Samantha) Lamborn, Justin Lamborn, Andrew Lamborn, Kaylie Lamborn, Sam (Samantha) Riendeau and Noah Riendeau. Great Grandchildren; Rhett, Iain, Owen St John, Heath St John, Journey Meyer, Remi and Baker Meyer, Peyton and Carson Walker, Sawyer, Reed and Halle Wells, Blayke and Rylan Miller and Seth, Victoria and Miley Lamborn. As well as her reunited granddaughter Jolienne Guillemaud and her great granddaughters Jessica and Breianne and great great grandchildren Delilah and Jak.
