Verna Joyce Janetta (Cordes/Sinclair) HUCK

Sinclair/Huck - The family of Verna Huck (née Cordes) announces her sudden passing. Verna passed away peacefully in her home on July 16, 2023 at the age of 96 years old.

Verna was born on November 4, 1926 in Rosetown, SK to August and Annie Cordes. She received her education at Rhondda and Smith Schools.

Verna married Lloyd Sinclair December 1, 1948 in Rosetown, SK. Together they raised 4 children on the family farm. Verna took care of the children, their home and was actively involved with caring for the animals and the farm, working tirelessly during seeding and harvest.

After Lloyd’s passing, Verna married Charlie Huck in 1994. They were good company for each other and enjoyed each other’s families and spending time at the lake. They shared their love of music by travelling to nearby communities playing their music with the fiddlers.

Over the years, Verna enjoyed travelling to visit family. She travelled to Bahamas, Phoenix and many trips to Alberta and BC. Many of her other travels were following hockey and ball teams on their road trips.

Verna loved everything from playing piano to saxophone and crocheting to dancing and was an avid track and field athlete. She had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Lloyd Sinclair and husband Charlie Huck, her daughter Barbara Deitsch, son Barry Sinclair, her brothers August and Bob and her sisters Irene, Vi, Donna and Kathy.

Verna is survived by her daughter Kellie (Pat) and their children Lee (Darya) and family, Robynn (Ryan) and family and Chad; son Kevin (Karen) and their children Brandyn (Riley) and family, Brett (Kathryn) and Bailey (Avery); son-in- law Larry (Barb†) and children Traci and family, RaeAnn (Richard) and family, Trevor (Julie) and family and daughter-in-law Peggy (Barry†) and family. Verna had 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Verna’s Life will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rosetown United Church. A livestream of the service will be available to be view at https://www.youtube.com/@rosetownunitedchurch9558/streams
