Vernon "Herb" Herbert SEIBOLD

It is with sadness the family of Vernon Herbert Seibold announce his passing on February 25, 2021 at the age of 90 years.

Herb was born March 22, 1930 with twin sister Verna Dolores on the family farm, SW-30-30-18 W3rd, west of Herschel, Saskatchewan.   He was the youngest of six children born to Louie and Laura (née Christman) Seibold.  Herb attended Toft Hill School and helped on the family farm which he took over from his parents in 1952.  Herb was a member of the Herschel Elks and served as counselor for the R.M. of Pleasant Valley.  Herb enjoyed gardening, curling, fishing, playing cards and crib. He loved Christmas and always put up a tree and adorned his home with lights and decorations.

Herb spent many winters in Mexico and Arizona and while in Arizona he met the love of his life, Shirley.  They married on May 16, 1977 and spent their summers on the farm and winters in Mesa, Arizona.  Herb and Shirley sold the farm to their nephew Richard in 1989.  Herb returned each spring from the south to help on the farm and also worked at Muller Sales in Rosetown, the marina at Aquadeo and for Sask Power at Stoney Rapids.

In 2010, Herb and Shirley made Rosetown their permanent home.  Herb was a devoted husband and caregiver to Shirley as her health declined.

Herb, known for his sense of humour, was always generous with a smile and a hug.  He was one of a kind, loved by everyone and will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Herb is survived by his brother Lloyd Seibold, nieces and nephews June Haynie, Joyce Zentner, Loretta (Bill) Hassler, Jean (Doug) Neehall, Jim Trickett, Mary (Len) Johnson, Irene (Peter) Moran, Linda (Bob) Klassen, Richard (Claire) Seibold, Grant (Jodi) Seibold, Mark (Krista) Seibold, Diane (Erich) Engelhardt, Wendy (Gord) Speirs, Wayne Sundstrom, numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews and longtime family friend, Linda Dagg.

Herb was predeceased by his parents Louie and Laura Seibold, wife Shirley Seibold, sisters Evelyn Whitson, Lena LaRose, Laura Trickett and Dolores Kaul, brothers-in-law Wes Whitson, Ed LaRose, Jack Trickett, niece Edna Tholl and sister-in-law Dorothy Seibold.
