It is with sadness the family of Wayne Isley announce his passing on January 15, 2025 at St. Paul's Hospital at the age of 69 years.
Wayne was born in Saskatoon, SK on March 2, 1955 and was adopted by Cliff and Eleanor Isley in June. He was raised on the homestead 9-miles North of Zealandia. Wayne attended school at Dollybrae, Zealandia and Rosetown. Graduating in 1973, he started working part-time on snowmobiles, this turned into a 13-year winter career.
In the spring of 1973, Wayne worked on the farm of Ken Russell. The following spring took him to work on the Cunningham farm. He really enjoyed this because the land was at many locations and he met a lot of his friends and neighbors. In 1977, he decided to come home to help his dad and rented his first half section of land. In 1978, Wayne traveled as a mechanic, racing snowmobiles across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Northern United States.
In 1980, Wayne met his wife-to-be Marlene Scott from Whitewood, SK, they married on October 3, 1981. They lived in Rosetown for two years with Marlene’s two children Clint and Carol Lee. In 1983, they moved to the fam and his parents retired to Rosetown. In 1984, they purchased a metal lathe and their machine shop career started. Their business was moved to Rosetown in 1986-1993 when they decided to build a new shop on their farm in 1995 and operated their business until 2024.
Wayne loved having a Coke with family, friends and neighbors and he was passionate about restoring and riding snowmobiles. He liked the challenge of fixing something that seemed impossible to fix. He enjoyed Collecting Massey Ferguson and Ski-Doo memorabilia and Wayne loved his dogs!
Wayne was a very hard worker, he enjoyed visiting with people while sharing a good joke and a laugh and had a nickname for everything important to him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Wayne is survived by his wife Marlene Isley, children Clinton Whyte (Cindy Haggarty) and Carol Lee Isley (Sheldon Dyck), birth mother Emily Vols, siblings Larry (Tiffini), Debbie (Jeff), Cathy (Mike), Franny (Marty) and families as well as numerous nieces, nephews and countless special friends. He was predeceased by his adopted parents Cliff and Eleanor Isley, his birth father Gus Vols and his in-laws Walter and Marguerite Scott.
A Celebration of Wayne's Life will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosetown United Church.
