It is with heavy hearts and much sadness that we announce the passing of Wilfred Jaroslaus Palchinski of Rosetown, SK. on January 16, 2023 at the age of 87 years. Wilfred was a man of strong Catholic faith and went to be with the Lord peacefully at Glengarda with his daughters at his side.
Wilfred was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Rosaline, brothers Michael, Edward and Alexander.
Wilfred is survived by daughter Brenda, grandchildren Amanda, Curtis (Amber); daughter Sherry, grandchildren Kristie (Ryan), great-granddaughters Harper and Remi, grandson Jarad (Jenny); daughter Carol, granddaughter Jennifer (Mike), great-grandson Ben; sister Lena, caregiver/friend Colleen and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Wilfred was the fifth child born to Benjamin and Rosaline (Rose) Palchinski (nee Tremblay), near Alvena, SK. He moved to Saskatoon, married Helen Thoms, and for 25 years raised their family of three daughters.
His career varied from hospital attendant, road construction, cat operator, heavy duty mechanic, welder, and home builder. There was nothing he could not do.
Wilfred loved to cook, shop, country drives, dance and swim. Adventures were traveling Canada, USA, Mexico, and Australia. He wintered in Mesa where he learnt to make silver jewelry. Harris became home until he moved to Rose Villa. He took great pleasure in watching the birds and made certain they were well fed. Yearly he started hundreds of vegetable seedlings.
Wilfred left his mark on the hearts of many and will always be remembered. A legacy remains at Rose Villa with numerous framed puzzles and Christmas light crosses.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for summer. His daughters welcome you to share your memories.
